German Telecom Giant Subsidiary Partners with Polkadot

T-Systems MultiMedia Solutions (MMS), German telecom giant Deutsche Telekom’s subsidiary, has partnered with Polkadot and acquired DOT tokens.

T-Systems MultiMedia Solutions (MMS), German telecom giant Deutsche Telekom’s subsidiary, has partnered with Polkadot. As per the partnership agreement, the telecom giant will provide its infrastructure to secure and maintain the Polkadot network. T-Systems MMS has acquired DOT coins as part of the partnership agreement.

As part of the partnership of T-Systems MMS with the Parity project’s developed “blockchain of blockchains” infrastructure, Polkadot, the former will “promote secure communication between blockchains.” The German telecommunication giant’s subsidiary will:

  • Act as a validator in the Polkadot public blockchain network.
  • Support the interoperability between decentralized blockchain networks, which run on the Polkadot mainchain.

Polkadot’s central chain, known as relay chain, coordinates the interactions between different parachains or different parallel networks. The new partnership will enable T-Systems MMS to “supports the secure and trustworthy exchange of messages between independent blockchains.”

Dr. Andreas Dittrich, Head of T-Systems MMS’s Blockchain Solutions Center, has said:

“As Deutsche Telekom, we have always supported the collaboration of people and companies, now also with decentralized technologies. Polkadot is a heterogeneous, multi-chain network allowing various blockchains of different characteristics to perform arbitrary, cross-chain communication under shared security. We fully believe in this future vision of a connected world.”

Reports say that T-Systems MMS will use the Open Telekom Cloud (OTC) for meeting the European legal framework’s strict requirements for security and compliance. In fact, the “independence of the Open Telekom Cloud supports the decentralization and thus the resilience of the blockchain network.”
