Former UFC Star Kevin Lee to Take 100% Payment in Bitcoin

Former UFC star Kevin Lee is going to receive the entire payment from Nurmagomedov’s Eagle Fighting Championship in Bitcoin (BTC).

In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Kevin Lee (former UFC contender) has revealed his new contract with retired UFC icon Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle Fighting Championship. After the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) cut Lee from their roster last month, the former UFC interim title contender is going to fight it out at 165 lbs instead of the lightweight division. While explaining his unique deal with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC, Kevin Lee revealed that he is going to receive the payment entirely in Bitcoin (BTC).

In the interview, Lee went on to say:

“I’ve been investing in them (Bitcoin) since 2017. After my fight with Tony, I invested in Bitcoin all the way back then. And it honestly, when I had the knee surgeries, it saved my a**. Because I forgot about that money, but then when bitcoin blew back up that gave me some money to live off of.”

He underscored his belief in BTC by saying:

“It’s something that I really believe in and really believe that’s honestly going to be the big future. So to be the first MMA fighter who has a deal, a deal worth millions of dollars, in Bitcoin, the first one, there was some appeal to that for me.”

Kevin Lee is the first major start Khabib Nurmagomedov’s MMA promotion has signed yet. The promotion of the event will take place in Miami in 2022 at the time of Eagle FC’s first event.
